WE ARE TEAM PURSUIT
Founded in 2010, Team Pursuit began with a vision to help young people discover their gifts and build pathways toward entrepreneurship, purpose, and meaningful lives. What started as youth workshops and collaborative programming grew into something much bigger.
Over time, it became clear that Team Pursuit was more than an organization, it was a philosophy: that it truly takes a team, unified across different visions and missions, to create lasting change. Today we operate as a coalition of business owners united under a shared mission, where each team member runs their own enterprise while collectively advancing community wellness.
We serve youth ages 12–24, families, and residents through mentorship, workforce readiness, wraparound support, community engagement, and innovative digital infrastructure, building sustainable pathways from instability to peace, purpose, and opportunity.
PEACE
Creating safe environments where communities can heal, connect, and thrive without fear. We build peace through presence, relationship, and trust.
JUSTICE
Advocating for equity, access, and fairness. We address systemic barriers and create opportunities for those who have been overlooked.

Equipping individuals and families with the tools, resources, and support to overcome adversity and build lasting stability.

YOUTH MENTORSHIP & DEVELOPMENT
Pairing youth with credible, trusted mentors who guide them through personal development, leadership skills, and goal setting. We create spaces where young people can dream, grow, and discover their purpose through workshops, coaching, and real-world experiences.
WRAPAROUND SUPPORT SERVICES
Connecting individuals and families to the resources they need, housing assistance, food access, mental health support, legal aid, childcare, and more. Our resource network addresses the root causes of instability so people can focus on building better futures.
WORKFORCE READINESS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Preparing youth and adults for economic independence through job training, financial literacy, resume building, interview preparation, and entrepreneurship exposure. We believe economic empowerment is a critical pathway to community stability.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & MOBILIZATION
Activating residents, block clubs, local organizations, and partners to collectively strengthen neighborhoods. Through canvassing, events, volunteer coordination, and collaborative initiatives, we build the social infrastructure that sustains lasting change.

Our model integrates mentorship, resource connection, community mobilization, and digital innovation to address the full spectrum of what families and neighborhoods need to thrive.
Violence prevention is one critical component of our work, but it doesn’t define us. We go deeper—building systems, relationships, and infrastructure that create long-term stability and generational change.

2010
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT ORIGINS
Creating safe environments where communities can heal, connect, and thrive without fear. We build peace through presence, relationship, and trust.
2012
DARE TO DREAM
Hosted the first major community event in Detroit—a dynamic youth experience designed to ignite vision and purpose. This marked a defining shift in the movement.
2013
DARE TO BECOME
Expanded from dreaming to becoming. More conferences, mentorship, community experiences, and partnerships began building the foundation for what Team Pursuit would grow into.
2015-2020
COMMUNITY VIOLENCE INTERVENTION
As community needs deepened, Team Pursuit expanded to include violence intervention using credible messengers, trauma-informed care, and conflict mediation—one critical program within a broader mission.
2020-PRESENT
HOLISTIC WELLNESS ECOSYSTEM
Today, Team Pursuit operates as a comprehensive community wellness organization integrating mentorship, wraparound support, workforce readiness, digital infrastructure, and community engagement.

A 120,000 sq ft transformational facility that will serve as a permanent home for innovation, healing, education, and community empowerment in Detroit.

We’re building more than programs. We’re building a permanent, transformational facility that will serve generations of Detroit families. A place where hope lives, healing is activated, purpose gets discovered, and vision comes to life.
The Dream Center will house healing spaces, creative studios, sports facilities, workforce training, a business incubator, mental health services, and Team Pursuit’s digital operations, all under one roof. This is what we build when we finally believe our community deserves more than a crisis response. It deserves transformation.
